Mammography
Mammography screenings are provided by a mobile outreach service presently on a bimonthly basis.  The unit will come monthly if the need arises.

A mammography is an examination of the breast using low-dose x-rays.  The images produced of the internal breast structures may help detect breast cancer before it would be found by you or your physician.

The American Cancer Society recommends women have a baseline mammogram by the age of 40.  All subsequent mammograms will be compared to it for subtle differences which  may be the first signs of cancer.  Annual mammograms should be performed in women 40 and older.  ACS also recommends monthly self-breast examination and annual clinical examinations.
